Welcome to Bear River Ranch

Bear River Ranch is a modern 300-acre summer camp facility and conference center nestled in the beautiful Missouri Ozarks, just 9 miles north of Rolla, Missouri. The Ranch is the year round office for both Cub Creek Science Camp and Animal Camp Jamaica and is used exclusively by Cub Creek Science Camp in the summer months. This facility is available for rent as a retreat facility, conference center, or wedding venue from January to April and September to December of each year. Rental is available by organized groups only, including weddings, wedding receptions, youth groups, scout groups, field trips, corporate groups and religious organizations. Some people call us a retreat center, others a conference center, some say organized group camping facility. What ever you choose to say, Bear River Ranch offers a great place to learn, collaborate, and have fun, all in a beautiful outdoor setting!

This facility has 15 air conditioned / heated cabins that can sleep 20 people in each for total housing for 300 people. Our newly built dining hall can easily accommodate 350 people. In addition, Bear River Ranch offers miles of hiking trails, tent and hammock camping sites, a campfire site, an archery and riflery range, craft lodge, fishing ponds, gemstone and fossil quarry, high ropes course, a game pavilion with carpet ball and gaga ball and large open play fields. Our many covered pavilions provide ample outdoor meeting spaces, while Bears Den (a large multipurpose building), our staff lounge, new and old dining hall and other building provided a wide range of indoor spaces.

The most unique feature of our facility is our private zoo. Our zoo is home to over 100 species of animals, most of which enjoy contact with our visitors. Our visitors can walk a llama, pet a fox, feed a lemur, hold a snake or lizard and so much more. There is no better place anywhere to learn about animals through personalized animal encounters. The Animal Area is only available for tour by appointment through our scheduled animal encounters or as an additional fee for a rental group.
