We offer some amazing activities at camp- over 100 of them!! At Cub Creek Science Camp our campers can be found feeding a sloth or lemur, watching a live surgery, or adopting an animal for a week! As you look through our activities, you'll see we offer much more than just animal activities. See below that campers get to do so much at Cub Creek!
What we are trying to say is don’t judge a book by its cover. Some people read “Science Camp” and think we are all about classrooms and books, when really nothing can be further from the truth! We are all about friendship, fun, curiosity guided learning, building self confidence, learning problem solving skills, and creating memories to last a lifetime. If at the end of summer our campers say that they made friends, had fun, learned lots and want to come back, then we have accomplished our goal! There are four activity periods each day: Two in the morning and two in the afternoon. Campers choose two, weeklong activities called courses and two daily, changeable activities called classes each day. Adopt an Animal, Jr. Vet, Chemistry, Ropes Course, Survival Skills, Archery and Crafts are just a few of the choices!
For one hour before lunch, campers have free access to their favorite locations around camp! With a buddy, campers can move between many different locations of camp choosing to spend time with their favorite animals, hang out and relax in a hammock, send an email home, do a little shopping at the camp store, or even go swimming.
After dinner each we enjoy a camp wide activity called Evening Activity! All the cabins get together for one last activity before winding down for the night. Some of our favorite activities involve Camp Out, Capture the Flag, and the Circle of Life, a chance for campers to experience animals coming to their cabins! Regardless of the activity, it's bound to be a great time.
Early Birds & Night Owls
Created for campers who rise a little earlier or who aren’t quite ready to wind down after evening activity, these activities help to add even more variety to the camp schedule. Optional and not offered every day, early birds and night owls keep things interesting at camp! Enjoy night hikes, Polar Plunge at the pool, or unique counselor creations like dance parties and water aerobics!
