How do returning campers register?

Returning families can log in to their CampWise account and add additional weeks of camp as long as space is available.

If you are new to Cub Creek Science Camp, use the yellow REGISTER button at the top of the page to begin registration. You are also welcome to call us if you need help with the registration process.

What is included in the cost of camp?

Cub Creek Science Camp tuition includes housing, meals, supervision, and access to our wide variety of camp activities and programs.

Campers stay in modern, air-conditioned cabins with multiple bathrooms and spacious bunk rooms. Up to four staff members live in each cabin with the campers.

Most importantly, campers can choose from a wide variety of animal, veterinary, science, adventure, creative, and traditional summer camp activities during their stay.

How much is the deposit, and is it required to reserve a space?

Yes. A deposit is required to reserve your camper's space. The initial deposit is $100 per week of camp.

On March 1, the required deposit increases to $500 per week. A camper's space cannot be held without the required deposit.

When is final camp tuition due?

For families who register before March 1, final payment or approved payment arrangements must be received by April 1.

If final payment or payment arrangements have not been received by April 1, the registration will be canceled and the space will be released.

How many spaces are left if a session has a yellow or orange dot?

Our online camp calendar does not show the exact number of spaces remaining. Instead, the colored dots give you a general idea of each session's availability.

A yellow or orange dot means availability is becoming limited. In some cases, there may be only one space remaining. If the week you want is showing limited availability, we recommend registering as soon as possible.

Availability can change quickly, especially during busy registration periods. We update the colors as frequently as possible, but a session can fill before the color is changed.

The session we want is black. What do I do?

A black session is currently full. Log in to your CampWise account and add your camper to the waitlist for that session. You are able to add your camper to the waitlist yourself once a session is black.

CampWise will not tell you what position your camper is on the waitlist. However, when you look at that week in your camper's account, the status will show Waitlist.

In the meantime, we highly recommend registering your camper for another open week of camp. This secures an available session for your camper while you wait to see whether a space becomes available in your preferred week.

We are on the waitlist. What should we know?

Being on the Cub Creek Science Camp waitlist does not necessarily mean your camper will not get a space.

Families frequently change weeks or adjust their summer plans. As a result, spaces do become available in sessions that were previously full.

You will not be able to see your numerical position on the waitlist in CampWise. Your camper's status for that session will simply show Waitlist.

We strongly recommend registering for another available week rather than waiting without a confirmed camp session.

What are the chances a space will open from the waitlist?

Unfortunately, there is no way to predict exactly whether or when a space will become available.

Waitlists can be surprisingly flexible because families change sessions and summer plans throughout the registration season. Your chances are generally better earlier in the year. As summer approaches, fewer families tend to make schedule changes and fewer spaces usually become available.

Are there other costs besides camp tuition?

Most of your camper's experience is included in tuition. However, there are a few optional or additional expenses that may apply.

Camp Store: Campers can visit the Camp Store during free time to purchase snacks, toys, games, toiletries, and other items. The average Camp Store deposit is approximately $50.

Stayover Weekend: Campers attending consecutive weeks pay a $150 Stayover Weekend fee between sessions.

Camp Photos: Families may purchase access to our online photo gallery for $75 per week. Our full-time photographers take thousands of high-resolution photos throughout the summer, and the photo package includes unlimited downloads.

Airport Transportation: Campers flying into or out of the St. Louis airport can use Cub Creek's airport transportation service. Transportation fees start at $150 and vary depending on flight times and transportation needs.

Are discounts available for camp tuition?

Yes. Cub Creek offers several ways for families to save on camp tuition, depending on when you register, when you pay, and how many campers or weeks you register.

Available discounts may include Early Bird registration savings, Pay-in-Full savings, discounts for a second child or additional week, and our Refer-a-Friend program.

Which weeks are Animal Camp, Vet Camp, or Science Camp?

Every week at Cub Creek is Animal Camp, Vet Camp, Science Camp, and more.

Rather than registering for one specialty program, Cub Creek campers choose from activities in many different subject areas. Depending on their age and interests, campers can explore animals, veterinary science, traditional science, adventure activities, arts, and other summer camp programs.

This allows campers to create a camp experience based on the activities they enjoy most instead of being limited to a single subject for the entire week.

Once I pick a week, am I locked into it?

No. We understand that family schedules can change.

As long as space is available, campers may move from one session to another without a week-change fee. Payments already made can be transferred to the new session.

After April 1, tuition must be paid in full in order to move a registration to another available week.

Can my camper attend more than one week?

Yes. Campers are welcome to attend multiple weeks of Cub Creek Science Camp.

The weeks do not have to be consecutive. However, if your camper attends consecutive sessions, they may remain at camp during the Stayover Weekend between those sessions.

What is the Stayover Weekend fee?

Campers attending two or more consecutive weeks can remain at Cub Creek between sessions. The $150 Stayover Weekend fee covers meals, supervision, laundry, and weekend activities.

Designated staff members remain at camp specifically to supervise our multi-week campers and provide activities between the end of one session and the beginning of the next.

Can I sign up just for a weekend?

No. Cub Creek does not offer weekend-only camp sessions.

Stayover Weekends are only for campers who are attending multiple consecutive weeks of camp.

What does “Junior” or “Senior” mean at Cub Creek?

Cub Creek divides campers into Junior and Senior age groups. This helps us create age-appropriate cabin groups, class sizes, and activities.

Junior campers are generally ages 7–11 and have completed 5th grade or below before arriving at camp.

Senior campers are generally ages 12–17 and have completed at least 6th grade before arriving at camp.

When registering an 11-year-old, CampWise may allow you to choose Junior or Senior. If your camper will have completed 5th grade before camp, select Junior. If your camper will have completed 6th grade before camp, select Senior.
